Last night was so glassy that we could see Orion’s Belt reflected on the sea. The reflected stars and phosphoresence kicked up by the boat made the surface of the sea alive with light. How beautiful it was to spend the evening on deck in quiet reflection under the clear night sky.

By dawn the northerly breeze had picked up. I couldn’t lie in my bunk when I felt the motion change. Finally it was a chance to stop the engine and let Zaytouna fly across the Mediterranean under sail alone. That is a glorious feeling. So we have been sailing all day and it is our intention to sail through the night.

Gaza, we are getting closer and Zaytouna has her white wings spread.
