Jeannette Escanilla, Sweden
Jeannette is the first substitute MP for the Left Party of Sweden in the Swedish Parliament. She is a member of the Council of Uppsala district and vice chair of the Committee for Children and Youth in the Council of Uppsala District.
She was a supporter of the Swedish Ship to Gaza (Estelle) campaign in 2012.

It was a huge privilege to participate in one part of this trip of solidarity in order to break the illegal siege of Gaza.
To have the possibility to join the Women’s Boat to Gaza is important in order to once again, with action, show the international solidarity with Gaza, which is so important for the people of Gaza. It is mainly women and children who are the victims of the siege. I sincerely hope that this time we will succeed. To break the siege is probably the most important step to stop the Israelis’ continuing oppression of the Palestinians.”
