She worked for several years for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/European_Women%27s_Lobby\"><u>European Women&#8217;s Lobby<\/u><\/a>\u00a0in Brussels before she became an EU official for the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/European_United_Left%E2%80%93Nordic_Green_Left\"><u>European United Left\u2013Nordic Green Left<\/u><\/a>\u00a0in 2009.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><u>Feminist<\/u>, she underlined feminist issues as well as\u00a0<u>anti<\/u><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Anti-racism\"><u>-racism<\/u><\/a>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/LGBT_rights_in_Europe\"><u>LGBT <\/u><\/a><u>rights<\/u>, protection of welfare and worker&#8217;s rights and opposition to austerity policies during the election campaign. In April 2014, Malin refused to buckle her seat belt on board in a Swedish plane after she became aware that the plane would transport a failed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Asylum_seeker\"><u>asylum<\/u><\/a><u> <\/u><u>seeker<\/u>\u00a0from Iran who was about to get deported.
